Lamar University

Lamar University started on September 17, 1923 found in Beamount University, Texas, USA, about twenty-five miles west of the Pelican State and about ninety miles east of Houston, as South Park Junior College, operating on the unused third floor of the new South Park High School, Pietzsch acted as the first president of the college. South Park Junior College became the first college in Texas to receive Texas Department of Education approval during the first year of operation, and became fully accredited in 1925.

The University offers courses hundred undergrad majors, master's, and bachelor's degree. Not only that, additional schools offer programs from the Lone-Star State Academy of Leadership in the Humanities, scholarships given to students ar WHO precocious. In August 2010, the American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) released a study on the core curriculum standards for 715 four-year institutions. This study featured in the Washington Post with the tag line "Forget Harvard and think Lamar." In October 2010, the University announced they will raise the standard of acceptance for the second time in two years due to an increase in enrollment. Increased enrollment standards come into force in autumn 2011.

Lamar is regarded as the National University by US News & World Report 2015 rankings. According to the site, 76.6% of students who applied for Lamar in 2013 treated. Lamar ranks in some 2,015 US News & World Report category.
